About Sam Arami
Ex-RBC investment banker. Founder of NextCallAgent and AI Venture Launch. Based in Toronto.
The banker years
I was an investment banker at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto, one of the youngest interns in Canadian finance history, and by 22 I was making about $200,000 a year. From the outside it looked like the finish line. From the inside it was a schedule I did not own, output I did not own, and a ceiling I could see from my desk. I quit.
Five failures and $647
Then I failed. Five businesses in a row. I ended up with $647 in my bank account, a grown man who had been called a prodigy two years earlier, wondering whether I had made the wrong call.
What changed it was almost accidental. I started making short videos about ChatGPT because I found it interesting. They went viral. The audience turned into clients, the clients turned into SimpliScale, my first AI agency, and I built it up and exited it.
The deal that changed the model
One pharmaceutical client taught me three things that became NextCallAgent. Partnering with the client beats charging them a flat fee. The client's network is the real asset, because one relationship in a vertical opens dozens of similar businesses. And the first custom build becomes a product you can license to the rest of the industry. Dream client first, custom build second, license third. That is the studio I run today, with clients in healthcare, financial services, insurance and home services.
Why AI Venture Launch exists
Most AI operators are stuck in what I call the technical trap: learning tools, building demos, never closing a paying client. The technical knowledge is not the bottleneck. Positioning, offer and authority are. AI Venture Launch rebuilds those three around your story, your expertise and your vertical, and I do it with you, not at you. I take roughly one new client a month so the one-on-one time stays real.
What I believe
- Cold outreach is dead for premium services. Inbound authority is the only mechanism that works at scale for $10K to $100K deals.
- Authority beats skills. A specific niche and a credible profile open more mid-market doors than another certification.
- Your story is the offer. The ex-banker speaks CFO. The former paramedic understands field services. Nobody's background is irrelevant.
- The mechanism is not the outcome. Explain how the AI works on a discovery call and you lose. Buyers pay for what changes for them.
- Paid discovery before the big build. Never pitch a $30K build on the first call. Get paid to scope it.
The people who came through
Ishwar, a UK operator with skill and no positioning, closed $43K plus a revenue share in his first week by structuring a partnership instead of a fee. Sudarshan built an intake system for a New York traffic-ticket practice that doubled its capacity, and the client came back for an $18K upsell. Marinko, a construction worker with no engineering background, built a med spa product in a day and had 2,000 people on a waitlist three days later. The full client histories are documented with receipts.
The network
Over three years I have vetted more than 120 AI engineers and automation specialists. That network is how NextCallAgent delivers custom builds without a bloated team, and how AI Venture Launch clients get their first projects fulfilled while they learn to sell.
Speaking
I have keynoted Dan Martell's AI Summit and spoken at the Global AI Show in Dubai. Details, topics and bios are on the speaking page.
